What Happens During Your Consultation
A trichologist on our clinical team conducts every initial consultation in person. They will examine your scalp, assess your hair loss pattern and stage, and review your medical history. Patients identified as strong candidates are then reviewed personally by Dr. Rajesh Patel, D.O., who walks through the treatment options clinically appropriate for your situation – including his honest clinical judgment about whether surgery is the right answer, whether it is not, and what the realistic expectations are for any approach discussed.
Scalp Examination and Hair Loss Assessment
Your trichologist examines the scalp directly using a handheld microscope, evaluating hair density, follicle miniaturization, the pattern and extent of loss, and — for surgical candidates — the donor area characteristics. This magnified analysis helps confirm which treatments are clinically appropriate before any recommendation is made. For patients identified as strong candidates, Dr. Patel personally reviews these findings as part of his evaluation.
Medical History Review
Hair loss is influenced by medications, hormonal factors, nutritional status, medical conditions, and family history. Dr. Patel reviews these to ensure the recommendation accounts for the full clinical picture.
Treatment Discussion
Every option appropriate for your situation is discussed – surgical FUE, non-surgical therapies, regenerative approaches, combination plans – each with clear reasoning about what it does, who it works best for, realistic timelines, and limitations.
