Frequently Asked Questions Hair Restoration at Sage Hair Clinic

ABOUT THE CONSULTATION
Is the consultation really free?
Yes. Consultations at Sage Hair Clinic are complimentary and carry no obligation. Your initial evaluation is conducted in person by a trichologist on our clinical team — not by a sales coordinator — and includes a magnified scalp analysis using a handheld microscope. Patients identified as strong candidates are then reviewed personally by Dr. Rajesh Patel, D.O.
What should I bring to my consultation?
A list of current medications, any photographs showing the progression of your hair loss over time, and any questions you want answered.
Can I have a virtual consultation?
Yes. Virtual consultations are available for patients throughout New Jersey and beyond. Because a full evaluation includes a magnified scalp analysis with a handheld microscope, your trichologist or Dr. Patel will advise whether an in-person visit is needed before a final recommendation can be made.
ABOUT SURGICAL HAIR RESTORATION
Am I a candidate for hair transplant surgery?
Candidacy is determined by the evaluation — not by a website questionnaire. Your trichologist assesses donor hair density and follicle health using a handheld microscope during your in-person consultation. Key factors include donor hair density, the pattern and stability of hair loss, age, and overall health. Patients identified as strong candidates are then reviewed personally by Dr. Patel, who gives you an honest final assessment.
What is the difference between ARTAS and NeoGraft?
Both are FUE hair transplant systems. ARTAS uses robotic, AI-guided extraction for precision and consistency at higher graft counts, and is offered at our Metuchen location. NeoGraft uses a pneumatic manual extraction technique suited to different patient profiles, and is offered at our Moorestown location. Dr. Patel’s evaluation helps determine which system and location is the right fit for you.
How long does an FUE procedure take?
A typical FUE procedure takes between four and eight hours depending on the number of grafts, performed under local anesthesia.
When will I see results from a hair transplant?
Transplanted hairs shed in the first two to six weeks – expected and normal. New growth begins in months three and four. Meaningful density improvement is visible between six and nine months. Full results mature over twelve to eighteen months.
ABOUT NON-SURGICAL TREATMENTS
What is the difference between LLLT and Alma TED?
LLLT uses light energy to stimulate follicle cellular activity, delivered via a wearable at-home cap. Alma TED uses acoustic sound waves to deliver a growth-factor serum in a 20 to 30-minute in-office session. They work through different mechanisms and are sometimes used in combination.
How long before I see results from non-surgical treatments?
LLLT: four to six months of consistent use before initial results. Alma TED: reduced shedding often within the first month, density improvement after the full three-session series. Regenerative treatments: variable, discussed during the consultation.
Can I combine non-surgical treatments with surgery?
Yes. Non-surgical treatments are frequently used alongside surgical restoration – before a procedure to optimize scalp health, after to support healing, or as an ongoing maintenance strategy.
ABOUT COST AND FINANCING
